Raffaele

Raffaele is a high-energy, eclectic flute player.
His formation is originally classical, as he attended the Conservatory of Pavia (Italy) where he graduated with top marks in 2003 while playing around both as a soloist and in orchestras, participating and winning several national and international flute competitions, and perfecting his technique and expression with world class flutists as Davide Formisano and James Walker. Aside from his classical formation, he also trained in jazz music (piano and flute) with Umberto Petrin (www.umbertopetrin.it).
He arrived in LA in 2006 where he started playing with House Music DJs, fascinated by the jazzy-latin-funky sonorities. His shows are always high-energy. Selected House Music DJs, often together with some percussion or string instrument, create an intriguing framework in which flute sonorities blend in perfectly in an explosion of energy and rhythm. He alternates really simple rhythmic sounds with more lyric moments, bringing a new variety to house music shows. At present he is collaborating with the following DJs and producers:
